Following on from the General Workplace Risk Assessment we made available yesterday, you can now download our full COVID-19 Business Recovery/Reopening Risk Assessment below.
After a prolonged business closure or change in business operating model due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the immediate reaction of many business owners may be to reopen the business as soon as possible.
However, it is highly likely that the business environment for the next period will be anything but “business as usual” – not just for your business but also your employees, key suppliers and customers. It is likely that many of the COVID-19 controls put in place during the crisis will remain in place for some time, or only be partially lifted i.e. social distancing requirements etc.
This pandemic has had an impact on organisations in many different ways, meaning that business assumptions made prior to COVID-19 are no longer true. Lessons need to be learned and businesses may need to adapt and change their operating procedures, policies, and practices. Therefore, it may be prudent to reflect on your options before you consider reopening.
Please note that the below risk assessment is general in nature and is not likely to cover all potential scenarios for every business. Much more specific risk assessments may be required for your particular business, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more specific risk management advice.
This risk assessment document aims to list some of the issues that businesses should consider prior to reopening, and provides an actionable checklist for you to use.
