Safer Internet Day 2021 – top tips for businesses

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day 2021 takes place on Tuesday 9 February, with events taking place across the globe as part of the “Together for a better internet” theme.

Safer Internet Day calls upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, and especially for children and young people.

It was started in 2014 with the goal of making the internet a safe place for all users. Since it’s inception, the internet has become an indispensable part of everyday life – for families, government bodies, small businesses and large corporations.

However, as the convenience and usefulness of the internet have increased, so too have the threats. Cyberattacks are a constant risk for individuals and organisations and, with that in mind, we have put together a handy guide listing some of the precautions businesses can take.

These include:

  • Secure internet browsing
  • Avoiding unsecured Wi-Fi
  • Recognising phishing attacks
  • Recognising and ignoring fake offers
